On the Selection Results for the 1st International Tokizane Prize in Physiological Anthropology

Professor Masahiko Sato (Former President of the Japan Society of Physiological Anthropology) was selected as the recipient of the 1st International Tokizane Prize in Physiological Anthropology, which was established in April 2012. The details are as follows.
Selection Process and Selection Committee Members
1. On October 28, 2012 we began taking submissions for candidate recommendations on the JSPA website (in Japanese and English) with a deadline of November 30, 2012.
2. We received one recommendation for a candidate by the submission deadline of November 30, 2012.
3. We held a selection committee meeting on January 18, 2013 at the Kyushu University Tokyo Office with all committee members attending, with the exception of Professor Alan Bittles. The deliberations resulted in the unanimous decision to award the prize to Professor Masahiko Sato. Note that we had presented the recommendation documents to Professor Alan Bittles in English in advance and had received a reply from him by e-mail to the effect that Professor Masahiko Sato was suitable as the prize recipient.
